Monthly Archives: January 2007

Yesterday Christopher and I drove out to Monroe, LA to go to Auburn Avenue and see our friends Katherine and Tim Nadreau. Kat and I have been friends for seven or eight years now, and we haven’t seen each other since her wedding day in August of 2005. It was very nice seeing her again and getting to know Tim a little better. Christopher mentioned that even though it has been over a year since we’ve seen Kat, it feels like we just picked up where we left off. I agree. :)

Not much else has been going around here this past week. Christopher is still fighting a cold (poor guy), and I’m fighting to keep the cold away from me.

I can’t remember what my last post was about so I may cover a few things that I have all ready talked about. Christmas with my family was lots of fun. And a late Christmas with Christopher’s parents was lots of fun, too. We had a big Christmas dinner and we opened presents. It was great. :)

My friend, Andrew, is in the hospital. He had to get a tracheotomy, and his doctors had to put him in a coma. It has been a week now, and he is still not awake. Please pray for quick healing for Andrew and comfort for his family.

Christopher’s childhood pup had to be put down last Saturday. She was nearly 17 years old and still as cute as can be. She was a very sweet dog and very loved. Christopher and his family have mourned Honey with lots of tears and sorrow.

My cycle this month looks really good, but I can all ready tell you that I’m not pregnant. We didn’t even try this month. I am so tired and weary of putting up with all the stress of trying to get pregnant. I think I’d be content to do this same thing next month, but I’m sure by then my PCOS will have kicked back in and I will have another extra long cycle. So, I’m going to talk to my doctor and see if I can get back on Clomid. I think. Christopher and I haven’t really discussed that yet.

Christopher transferred to Parkway Theatre last Friday. I think he likes it. There is a lot of stuff that he has to work on to get the projection booth cleaned up and working properly, but he loves doing things like that. Parkway is a bit further away from home but not too much. I like that theatre better, and overall, I’m happy with his transfer.

January is halfway over. Wow.

It is sad to see yet another Christmas and another year come and go, but I welcome 2007 with open arms. I do not know what God will have for Christopher and I in 2007, but I look forward to finding out. I do know a few plans we have. Christopher’s parents will be here this weekend, and we are very excited about this. We have not seen the Merediths since April. We will have a second Christmas with them while they are here. Christopher wants to fry a turkey and have me make all the traditional Christmas foods and goodies. I’m looking forward to it.

Christmas with my family was great. I was able to see my adorable nephew and niece, and I think they had fun playing with their “Shell and Christober.” Christopher was able to meet the Paschals, my mom’s sister and her family. And spending time with my sister and brother and sister-in-law was fun as usual.

Just to keep you up-to-date, I am not pregnant, and I will not be taking Clomid this cycle. This means that my body will, once again, be left to take its own course, so who knows how long it will last. I’m hoping and praying that the Clomid will have some after-effects and cause my body to act normally (whatever that is) this cycle. And I have decided to not stress out about trying to conceive this cycle. I am so tired of all the stress and heartache and disappointment. It’s hard on Christopher, too. I think a break will do us well. (Let’s see how long this little “resolution” lasts, shall we?)

Well, Happy New Year to all! May God pour out His blessings on us this year as we seek to honor Him in all we do.
